Fakhar replaces Qadir in Pakistan's T20 World Cup squad
Pakistan have knock up Fakahar Zaman from their list of ICC T20 World Cup 2022 reserves, the board reported on Friday (October 14). The southpaw will supplant Usman Qadir in the 15-player squad, who has neglected to recuperate sufficiently from an injury.
Qadir supported a hairline break on his right thumb in the T20I series against England in Karachi on September 25. The legspinner has now been considered inaccessible for choice before October 22.
In the mean time, Fakhar will show up in Brisbane from London alongside Shaheen Shah Afridi on Saturday and will be accessible for selection in the two warm-up matches against England (October 17) and Afghanistan (October 19) during which the team management will assess the left-handed batter's fitness.
Pakistan launch their campaign against arch-rivals India on October 23 at the iconic MCG.
