Sri Lanka pacer Dushmantha Chameera ruled out of remaining T20 World Cup 2022

Sri Lanka quick bowler Dushmantha Chameera has been ruled out of the rest of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2022 because of a calf injury.

Earlier, Chameera missed the 2022 Asia Cup due to a similar issue, but was included for the Sri Lankan World Cup squad  after passing the fitness test.

The right-arm pacer played a significant part in Sri Lanka's enormous success over the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in Geelong on Tuesday, October 18. He claimed the first three wickets in UAE's innings and ended up with figures of 3 for 15. Be that as it may, the 30-year-old suffered an injury  in the last over of his spell and was seen shaking his head as he was removed the field.

There are likewise concerns over Danushka Gunathilaka - who missed the UAE game, and Pramod Madushan, with both set to go for scans of their hamstring injuries.  Meanwhile, Sri Lanka’s medical team is hopeful of Madushan’s recovery ahead of his side’s do-or-die encounter against the Netherlands on Thursday, October 20.
