Bangladesh could have picked Rahim and Mahmudullah for WC - Tamim

Tamim Iqbal, Bangladesh's ODI captain, said on Friday that experienced cricketers like Mushfiqur Rahim and Mahmudullah might have been picked for the impending T20 World Cup to be held in Australia.

It just so happens, Rahim resigned from T20Is after his place went under scrutiny following a delayed lean fix in the most limited format while Mahmudullah neglected to get it done for the World Cup.

"I told you before if Mushfiqur (Rahim), Riyad (Mahmudullah) were there in this big stage like the World Cup, then, at that point, I figure it would have been something more. Since you carried such senior cricketers for the entire year, why (exclude) them not long before the World Cup," Tamim told journalists at a confidential program in a city hotel.

Tamim additionally supported more youthful younger like Afif Hossain and Yasir Ali to come great. Afif, specifically, has ended up being an essential cog in the Bangladesh middle order in restricted overs cricket.

"Simultaneously, I will say that who are replacing them like Yasir Rabbi, is one whom I rate exceptionally... Afif is playing incredibly well. The main solicitation I can make, since that is the main thing I can do, and that is, we might have different opinions on who could possibly be in the side, yet nobody forces their side and we shouldn't discount somebody before they even play a game.

"Perhaps you can have questions with respect to somebody's incorporation however another person could have an arrangement about him and you should allow him that opportunity," he noted.

With Sridharan Sriram as the specialized advisor for the briefest format, Bangladesh are trying shoddy openers like Mehidy Hasan and Sabbir Rahman.

Despite the fact that Tamim felt that the opening position is even more an expert work, he noted Mehidy and Sabbir ought to be given a run. He likewise refered to the case of Rohit beginning as a middle order bat before  prevailing at the highest point of the order.

Whenever a new coach comes, he comes up with a plan. Unfortunately, I have not worked with him (Sriram) as yet, so I am not aware of his mentality and plans. And without knowing if I say that openers should open it won't be right, because I am part of that team, though I am not playing in the T20s, but I am playing Test and ODIs.
"I am sure there is a reason behind it or else why are they doing it? If it does not click, they should have other plans and I am sure they have it. If
someone is not performing in one or two games, instead of getting over (criticising) him, we should support him, because all of us want to do well in the World Cup. If we can win two to three matches, it would be an achievement because Bangladesh have not won many matches in the World Cup. Let us all be positive and see what happens.

"I feel someone who opens should come out opening, but if there is any definite plan about it I cannot say that it is wrong. Rohit Sharma, one of the greatest openers in the history of the game, used to bat at five or six. Someone must have planned for him and he opened and now he has around 25 centuries to his name. So I cannot say that he won't be able to make it, neither Miraj nor Sabbir, and we need to give them time."
