Washington replaces Chahar for remaining South Africa ODIs
Washington Sundar, the offspinning all-rounder, has been named as the substitution for Deepak Chahar for the last two One-Day Internationals against South Africa, BCCI reported on Saturday (October 8).
Washington, who has highlighted in four ODIs up until this point, played the remainder of those against West Indies in Ahmedabad in February this year.
Chahar, who had a firmness in his back after the third T20I against South Africa in Indore, has been ruled out of the ODI series subsequent to having missed the primary match due in Lucknow. He will currently go to the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru to be observed by the medical team.
Having lost the first match of the series, India have left for Ranchi for the second ODI on Tuesday. The third match of the series will be played in New Delhi.
